Wandered in the hills again behind
Selcuk in amongst shade-giving olive trees and a spectacular array of vibrant
wildflowers. Saw the same white
horse we encountered during our last trek but this time when Leah approached it
with a handful of grass it ate from her hand.
Drank freshly squeezed pomegranate
juice. Interesting, dry texture
and flavor – like cranberry juice
with a kick. Very good laxative.
Went out for dinner to a nicer
restaurant and also packed up most of our stuff in preparation for our
departure tomorrow. I think it’s
actually going to be a bit hard to leave.
We’ve been here for just over a week now and God has blessed us tremendously
during our stay with an amazing period of rest in a stunningly beautiful place
with amazing friends who’ve really been encouraging and inspiring. He’s helped me to realize that, as
Christians, it should be our imperative to pour ourselves out in love to the
people around us, no matter how long our encounter may last. We give of ourselves – our resources,
our time, our talents, etc. – to the people God places in our path, everywhere
we go, even if we’re only just passing through, because really, we’re only ever just passing through. Our true home awaits us unspoiled and unchanged in a place
beyond our greatest and deepest imaginings.
